The Art of Shortform Fiction: A Writing Workshop
Everybody has a story to tell, though too often these stories go unwritten.
In this four week course, we will begin by reading and discussing stories by masters such as Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Miranda July, and Franz Kafka focusing on what make these stories compelling to us not just as readers, but as writers looking to develop our own craft.
After, we will practice short writing exercises before devoting time to our own original work. All participants will receive detailed feedback from the instructor as well as feedback from the group.

Caleb Berg is a writer and educator from Richmond, CA. He earned his MFA in fiction from the University of Houston, where he was an Inprint Isabel M. Elkins Fellow. He currently works as an adjust lecturer at Wilbur Wright College and provides editorial work for Conjunctions and Another Chicago Magazine. His writing appears in 3:AM Magazine, Gulf Coast, and Emerge Literary Journal.
